Having recently lost Lance Reddick, Andre Braugher, and Clarence Williams III, and with Charles S. Dutton having sadly decided to retire, I’ve elected to make more of an effort than ever before to give the greatest living Black actors their flowers while they’re still with us! This right here is a photo of Robert Wisdom, who is one of the most underrated and extraordinarily powerful actors in the entire history of show business. His performance as a character named Eddie in the tiny 2000 indie Dancing At The Blue Iguana, which also features Daryl Hannah, Jennifer Tilly, Elias Koteas, and Sandra Oh, is so fucking galvanizing that I can hardly even begin to do it justice. Delroy Lindo is probably the only other actor who has ever hit me with a lightning bolt on that level. He has also brought his charisma and intensity to bear in productions by David Simon and Todd Solondz, and I have the privilege to have a small-scale friendship with him on the website that used to be known as Twitter! He is truly one of the greats! All hail the mighty and unfuckwithable Robert Ray Wisdom!
