A quick word against the refusal to affirm LGBTQ+ people and identities
No matter how widely accepted queer people now are in many contexts, the persistence of bigotry against them means that statements like this are useful.
This kind of thing never gets old, so on the sixth anniversary of my having issued this particular utterance, here we go:
“Quick thing. A trans homie just happened to mention en passant that a homophobe gave her the hell speech, so. To all my friends and theirs who are gay, trans, non-binary, agender, pan, bi, otherwise nonconformist or heterodox or gender-fucked: For what it's worth, if and when the doubt or fear or other negativity with regard to the validity of your identity and/or choices creeps in, do what you can to expel it, and know this: God loves you as you are! The Devil may not, but he is a liar. A damn liar! God loves you! And so do we!”

Rhino, I know you probably didn't intend to do this, but just a gentle reminder that bisexual and pansexual people exist too, and we (and biphobia) should be included in this reminder ;) bisexual erasure is insidious, and gets everywhere, and we shouldn't be lumped in with "gay". I know that wasn't your intention here, and it's a very easy mistake for anyone to make. Just pointing it out out of love.
This bisexual person thanks you for your unwavering support as an ally, and thinks you're wonderful! We need more people like you :)
